Kristine Whittle is a yoga teacher trainer, massage therapist, and dance theatre artist. She is deeply committed to sharing these practices in service of restoration and healing. The Restorative Yoga Training she has developed and refined over the past couple decades focuses on harnessing the power of conscious rest through the art of deep listening & embodied self-awareness. She carries deep gratitude for her teachers: Jim and Ruthie Bernaert, Ellen Saltonstall, Josh Schrei, and many more, including each person she has had the honor to share these offerings with.
Well my friends…Here we are. I have lots of feels and few words for these times, so I thought I’d share something from Choctaw writer Pixie Lighthorse in her beautiful book Prayers of Honoring: Help us remember the value of our presence at this moment in time…Help us with our night vision—for moving through darkness with courage…Allow us to love the darkness—wrap it around our shoulders, hunker down at the fire with it and honor the wisdom that comes from time spent in the dark. Give us a cauldron to stir and the years and patience to wait for the good brew…Help us surrender and feel everything, especially when we have nothing to comfort us or take the edge off. Teach us to understand that it is not beyond, but within our human chaos that calm directives are located. Let us default to great love in times of doubting ourselves and each other as we work together toward solutions.

“I felt like the restorative workshop gave me a complete toolkit for designing and conducting my own classes. The pace was good, the poses provided and practiced were varied and useful, the assists were great and everything was nicely packaged such that it was easy to assimilate the information. While I had done some restorative classes prior to taking the class, I feel the workshop I did following the class was more polished and robust. “I was immediately comfortable with Kristine’s warmth, instruction and candor. If it had to do with deepening her or her students’ knowledge and understanding of how to deepen the practice of restorative yoga, she was open to sharing it and to hearing feedback from participants in the training. Nothing was held back- she taught us all the tricks of her trade. The training was rich with well structured information and a good amount of hands-on time in both level one and two. I feel incredibly fortunate to have learned from someone with so much prior knowledge of not just yoga, but a background in body work, deep understanding of meridians/chakras, anatomy and physiology. Having trained with Kristine I now have a well-rounded ability to assist my own students in getting the most benefits possible from this incredible practice and a deeper understanding of restorative practice as a whole…L.
